We are officially moved into our apartment (or shall I say, flat)! My mom came to town to help us, thank goodness she is a professional mover at this point, and I'm forever grateful for her help. I picked her up from the airport in a rented car and drove all the way there and back on the other side of the road, and neither of us had a heart attack, so that was a true miracle.

The first day she got here we had no furniture except mattresses on the floor, but by the time she left it was really beginning to look like a home!

Graham loved showing Grandma around the city. A few weeks ago we got to talking to a woman at a farmer's market and she told us about 'A Tiger Comes to Tea', which is a children's book that's very popular over here. We bought the book and then decided to get tickets to see the play. It was completely kid friendly, engaging, and in an absolutely beautiful theatre. It is not lost on me that Elise's first theatre experience is in the famous London theatre district (the theatre kid in me is DYING!).

We took my mom to Willy Wonka Tea, Buckingham Palace, and of course Hamley's Toy Store. We had some great dinners and explored new parks together. We even got a bonus Grandma day because of the crazy global tech issues (probably were the only ones thankful for that!)

We were all sad to see her go at the end of the week, but she was the perfect first visitor and I can't wait for her to be back in a few months.

This week was my first week as a solo stay at home mom, which has been a wild ride (and it's only Tuesday). I'm excited to spend this time exploring our new city with the kids, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss working with people who value my opinions and don't follow me into the bathroom.

Can't believe we've been here almost a month now - next week we head to Paris for the Olympics and then a week in the south of France!
